5:00 PM: Our motorbike and tour guide will meet you in the lobby of your Da Nang city center hotel to start your Da Nang Street Food Tour.
We will take you through crowded city streets to Con Market – the city’s largest wholesale and retail market. Con Market is a traditional local market that provides an intriguing glimpse into Da Nang life. When the market was first constructed in the 1940s, it served as a venue for farmers and locals to sell their produce. Since then, it has grown into a large market selling fresh produce, dried goods, clothing, handicrafts and other items. Besides, Con Market is among the greatest locations to try the local food of Danang and central Vietnam. A large hall in the market’s main interior is filled with vendors selling various local dishes.
Let’s try My Quang (Quang noodles) in the market. In a bold broth, Quang noodles is accompanied by shrimp, pork, and quail eggs. In addition, Quang Noodles should be served with fresh vegetables such as lettuce, sliced banana flower, bean sprouts, and coriander.
Taste of Banh Trang Cuon Thit Heo (sliced pork rolled with rice paper). It’s made with fresh ingredients like pork, raw vegetables, mango, cucumber, and green banana. Everything is wrapped in soft rice paper and dipped in the traditional Vietnamese sauce “Mam Nem”.
Next, we continue to go the Madame Duong to eat Banh Xeo and Nem Lui (Fried Pancake and Lemongrass Pork Skewers). Banh Xeo (Fried Pancake) is made with rice flour and a filling. The filling is varied, including shrimp, pork, eggs, and bean sprouts. Nem Lui (Fried Pancake and Lemongrass Pork Skewers) is pork skewer that are lightly browned on a charcoal grill. It’s served with a special sauce made of ground peanuts, ground pork liver, and seasonings.
Then, drive a short distance to a nearby restaurant for Bun Cha Ca (Grilled fish cake noodle). Bun Cha Ca’s fish cake is made from a variety of fresh fish such as mackerel, barracuda, or lizardfish. The meat is then ground and spiced before being fried. The broth is made with the bone as well as a variety of vegetables including cabbage, pumpkin, pineapple, and bamboo shoots. The incredible combination of flavors results in a flavor-packed and healthy dish.
The guide will then take you to a coffee shop on Bach Dang Street where you can enjoy Rau Cau Trai Dua (coconut pudding). This dessert is one of Danang’s most eye-catching desserts. Your senses will be awakened as you slowly taste the cool and sweet pudding flavor. Coconut pudding is a local favorite, and it’s a fun place to sit in the evenings and watch their valets try to drum up business. Furthermore, it provides a good view of Han river and Dragon Bridge at night.
