Itinerary

Traveling to Hoi An Old Town will allow you to experience a variety of natural beauties and handicrafts in addition to learning about the unique features of the historic town. About 5 kilometers to the southeast of Hoi An is Cam Thanh Coconut Village (Bay Mau Coconut Village). The Coconut Village is a popular destination for tourists from Hoi An and other locations to visit and explore because of its airy, spacious, wide area and lovely water coconut palm forest. Particularly when traveling to Hoi An from Cam Thanh coconut village, you can imagine yourself exploring the Mekong Delta region of South Vietnam.

Cam Thanh Coconut Village has the city’s most intricate waterway system. It is surrounded by four rivers that are linked by smaller canals. Palm groves, gardens, and rice paddies are nourished well by fertile alluvia and year-round fresh water. It is not surprising that people have lived here for more than 2,000 years. The primary sources of income for people are still farming and fishing as of today.

HOI AN BOAT TOUR

CAM THANH COCONUT VILLAGE HOI AN TOUR

8:00 AM or 1:00 PM: Our private car and tour guide will pick you up at your Hue hotel in the morning before we begin our journey from Hoi An to Cam Thanh coconut village.

Here, to discover its beauty, you can take a basket boat (Thung Chai) trip through the coconut forest and discover more about the community and daily life of Vietnamese fishermen. The people of Hoi An Coconut Village make a living by weaving fishing nets, making basket boats, making coconut objects, building houses out of palm leaves, and harvesting edible bird nests. The coconut forest has been home to many aquatic species for generations such as fish, shrimp, crabs and even animals’ soft body. In addition to defending the Cham Islands World Biosphere Reserve from the sea’s waves, it has shielded the Cam Thanh inhabitants.

Additionally, locals will show you how to paddle the distinctive bamboo basket boat used only in Vietnam. You will hear tales of earlier conflicts and the trying circumstances that soldiers faced. It was a bloody battleground. Quang Nam’s Cam Thanh people were renowned as the “land of steel” during the war, fighting the enemy to secure the nation’s independence.

During the trip, the boatman will collect coconut leaves and use them to fashion amusing natural ornaments such as hats, rings, and glasses. It’s fantastic for you. You will undoubtedly experience the sensation of floating on the waves of water and will participate in an equally enjoyable basket boat race between the baskets in the cheering and bustling music drum.

Participate in river fishing with locals and get experience with cast or round nets. Passengers are permitted to attempt the catchings on their own, under the guidance of locals. Undoubtedly, having fun on the water before landing is very common. Learn more about life and people while also learning how to take attractive photos.

Following that, you will have lunch at a local restaurant (optional). Before saying goodbye to your hosts and returning to the hotel, take a moment to unwind and take in your surroundings.

After exploring amazing places at Cam Thanh Coconut Village, the private car will take you back to your hotel in Hue city, where we will say our goodbyes!

  Robert gave us the best day!
We had a great day tour in Halong Bay with Robert. He was so informative about Vietnam for my 6 kids. He was attentive, kind, patient and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond sending us so much information on where to eat and suggestions of things to see after the tour. He is the best photographer, suggesting wonderful spots to take pictures. We felt at home with him and he made our day so fun and easy! My 3 year old got a rash and he helped us figure out what to do and offered to help us get medicine at a pharmacy!   Fantastic Experience for our family with Robert on the private tour
We had an amazing time on the private tour of Ha Long Bay. Robert was an especially great guide, who did a fantastic job explaining different aspects of the day, while teaching us various bits about language, culture and food. We are a family with 6 children between the ages of 3 and 16, and Robert did a great job making it an awesome experience for every age. The kayaking was a lot of fun, and worked for every age. And the kids (and adults) had a great time in the cave. The private tour worked great for our family, giving us flexibility on schedule (we were running late in the morning), and the route that our boat took was away from the large crowds and never felt very busy. The food was great for lunch - much better than I expected. Shrimp, squid, fish, crab, rice, fruit, spring rolls, etc. It was really a great day, and Robert helped to make everything really nice for our family. I would 100% recommend.
