Trang An Bai Dinh  Itinerary for 1 Day

7:30 am: depart from Hanoi to Ninh Binh (over 70 km). Around 10:00 am, you reach Ninh Binh and go into Bai Dinh Pagoda. If you travel by bus, you should remind the driver to pull in somewhere that is near Bai Dinh pagoda

10:30 am: Park your vehicle and visit Bai Dinh Pagoda and it is going to take you around  1:30 to explore the whole of this biggest pagoda of Vietnam. From our experience, if you don’t prefer to walk a lot, you should grab a motorbike to the mountain then track down for feeling less tired

12:00 pm: Having lunch

1:30 pm: Move to Trang An tourism area and buy the boat ticket of 150.000 VND/per person. Exploring all the caves takes you around 3 hours but if you book a Trang An tour, it will be 2 hours 15 minutes only

4:30 pm: Start getting back to Hanoi and reach the capital at around 6:30 pm,finish the journey

Please note that if you to Trang An first, then it will be late for you to have lunch since having a boat ride in Trang An takes you quite a long time

Hoa Lu Tam Coc Itinerary

This is the common schedule toursim programs normally apply and you can consult  this for planning your own trip

8:00 am: Come to Hoa Lu (Ninh Binh), on the way you can pull off to have breakfast. The distance from Hanoi to Hoa Lu is around 80km

10:30 am: After parking, you buy sightseeing ticket to visit the ancient capital complex – Hoa Lu and 2 temples of  the Đinh and Lê Kings for 40 mins.

11:45 am: Prepared to have lunch. You can book a restaurant in Tam Coc or have lunch on the way from Hoa Lu to Tam Coc. Having lunch at Tam Coc will be more convenient because there are many restaurants there and service is good.

It takes you around 25 minutes by car from Hoa Lu to Tam Coc

12:15pm: Having lunch at Tam Coc

12:30 am: Buy boat ticket for visiting the caves in Tam Coc for around 1:30 (2 tourists/a boat)

3:15 pm: Get on the car to visit Bich Dong, an ancient pagoda sitting next to the cliff. It consists of 3 parts (Ha, Trung and Thuong Pagoda). You can also rent a motorbike to reach Bich Dong.

It is around 2.5 km from Tam Coc to Bich Dong, so Andy suggest that you should go by motorbike so that you can have more time doing sightseeing

4:15 pm: Back to Hanoi

For people who are interested in riding a bicycle from Hoa Lu to Tam coc, there is a way across the fields with stunning views  for tourists to enjoy riding and immersing themselves into the nature

Ninh Binh for 2 Days 1 Night Itinerary

For the tours of  2 days 1 night, you can combine the mentioned tour of one.

After finishing your tour for 1 day, you move to Cuc Phuong and stay there.

Early tomorrow you will trek inside the forest, have lunch soon,  return the motorbike (if  rent one), and get back to Hanoi in the afternoon

Combining 2 days into tour of 2 days

Besides exploring Cuc Phuong on the second day, you also can choose Pha Diem stone temple as the next place spot, which is around 30 km from Ninh Binh.

In the morning , after having breakfast, you will depart at 8:00 am to the temple. On the way getting there, there are quite a lot of picturesque along the road, so you can pull off to take some photographs.

In fact, when you arrange your tour in Christmas occasion, it would be extremely beautiful. But please note that once you get Phat Diem stone temple, you should book your lunch right away and set time to get back for lunch.

Normally toursts often spend around 40-50 minuts to vist Phat Diem stone temple then come back Hanoi in the afternoon.

Ninh Binh Itinerary for 3 Days 2 Nights

Day 1: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Cuc Phuong

Starting off from Hanoi in the morning, around 3 hours you will get to the gate of Cuc Phuong national park and taking lunch there.

Then explore Cuc Phuong Park, thousand –year white Meranti, and other places along the road into the forest

Sleep overnight at Cuc Phuong Park

Day 2 : Cuc Phuong – Bai Dinh – Hoa Lu – Trang An

Check out the hotel, have breakfast then depart to get to Bai Dinh, the largest and most imposing pagoda of Vietnam, then move to the ancient capital Hoa Lu.

After visiting the temples of Đinh, Lê Kings and exploring Hoa Lu, you should take rest then get back to Trang An Tourism area.

Having dinner and sleep at Ninh Binh city

Day 3: Ninh Binh – Van Long – Ga canal

Check out the room, from  Ninh Binh City to Van Long Lagoon, where the film: Skull Islam was shot.

In the middle of the day, you will visit the hot spring of Ga Canal to take rest and take a hot bath there
